Artist Statement
The inclination to archive my life’s experiences, memories, and love leaves little to no separation between myself and my artwork. Constant desire for poetic documentation and devotion to process are the principles that guide my creative practice.
My joy is to weave the interplay between medium and concept. I explore the many forms in which creativity is realized; often including fabric for its impermanent nature, prints for their intensive process, photo and film for their undeniable authenticity, etc.
I seek to honor and celebrate the divine feminine. Sacred relationships between women, specifically ancestral, have subtle yet broad influences on our culture and identity. My work, heavily influenced by these intimate traditions, is imbued with an unspoken, yet powerful unity of women.
Creativity is reflection: a declaration of understanding through communication with self. With my flicker of life, I create in an attempt to preserve what is ephemeral.
